What is the difference between Standard, Premium membership and Premium Plus? Standard membership is a totally free service where members can exchange unlimited e-mails to chat and get to know each other, but can not exchange Personal Contact Information or arrangements to meet. Premium membership is a subscription service where members can avail of additional functionality and special features which enables them to quickly and easily find their ideal matches. Premium Members are able to freely exchange contact information and arrange to meet with other Premium Members. Premium Members have a higher rate of success in meeting people and having dates as they have a higher profile on the site. Premium Plus features allow Premium members to send and receive contact information from our non paying standard members or (and) makes their profile highlighted in the search and stand out from the rest. Plus features are available and active only when account is premium.

Are members on this site screened? A valid email address is required in order to become a member of this site, as you will not be able to activate your account without one. This means that should any member of the site be found guilty of harassing other members, we will have a lead in finding the person who is causing problems; and with the help of the members ISP, hopefully we can hopefully trace this person. Needless to say, such people will be permanently banned from membership on this site. However, our service is otherwise confidential. There is no way that we can do extensive background checks on members, and we expect you to understand that we cannot take responsibility for any pain, damage or suffering arising from your use of this site. Please use your common sense and be careful about giving out personal information to people you meet on this site
 

What is the difference between entering as a guest and entering as a member? AnotherFriend.com works on a membership system so that we are able to keep data files that contain your profile information and other information such as your “Favourites”, etc. Guests may enter the site and browse the listings, but in order to post a profile and use the many features available on the site, you must become a member.
 

 
  JOINING
How do I Join? Simple click on the ‘Join Now’ button and this will take you to the application form which only takes a few minutes to complete. Choose a Username and Password that you will use to gain access to the site and enter your email address so we can send you an Activation code to activate your profile.
 

What do I say in my profile? Don’t worry about getting everything in as you can amend your profile at any time, just give it a go with whatever you wish to tell about yourself. We recommend that you give as much detail as possible as it is your individuality that will make your profile interesting. Think about the things you would like to know about someone else as other people are likely to want to know similar things about you. Please keep it honest as people will prefer to meet the real you! Here’s a tip. Post a photo! Even if it’s just a private one. Profiles with photos get way more mails than those without.
 

Why do I need an Activation Code, what is it for? The activation code is a security feature to ensure the email address you have registered belongs to you. Your activation code is sent to this address and you need to enter this code the next time you log in to continue using this site.
 

I have registered but haven’t received my Activation Code, and have requested it to be resent. Why? This could be for a couple of reasons. Make sure that your email address is completely correct or you will not receive it. If you still have not received your activation code and your address is correct this could be because your email provider is blocking the email thinking it is spam, please check your spam filters and if possible set ‘AnotherFriend.com’ as a safe sender.
 

Can I change my Username? No. Unfortunately once you pick a username this is tied to a specific member account and cannot be changed. To have a new Username, you need to register a new member account.
 

 
  MESSAGES
How do I send messages to members? To contact other members on AnotherFriend.com, please follow these steps:
  • Login to the site using your Username and Password.
  • Click on the ‘Quick Search’ function to search the database.
  • Browse through the profiles until you find a member you wish to contact.
  • Click on the ‘Envelope’ icon to send a message to them. Orif you are a Premium Member you can send them a ‘Whisper’ for one-to-one chat.
  • The more messages you send, the more replies you will receive, so be proactive.
 

How do I receive messages from other members? When a member sends you a message, AnotherFriend.com will notify you that a message is waiting to be picked up by you. Login with your Username and Password to view the message. You can then reply to the message and your message will be forwarded to the other member. Since all messages go through our system, neither member will see the real email address that you use.
 

How do I reply to a message that I received? Simply click on the ‘Reply’ link on the message received to send a response. You can view their profile by clicking on ‘View Profile’ if you want to read their full details.
 

How long are my messages kept for before they are deleted? Messages are kept on the site for 30 days and then are deleted.
 

Can my messages be retrieved once they are deleted? Once you have deleted your messages or they have been automatically deleted after the 30 days they are then irretrievable.
 

Can my messages be retrieved once they have been sent? Once you have sent a message to another member it can not be retrieved or recalled. Premium members can however view all messages which they have sent to other members.
 

Can I delete messages that I haven’t read? Unread messages are not normally deleted but may be deleted if not read after 30 days.
 

How many messages can I send in one day? You can send unlimited messages but please do not SPAM other members or you will be banned from the site.
 

My mails are being delayed. Why is this? Standard Member email communications have an automatic 15 minute time delay. This is because our system automatically filters these messages for encoded information or contact details. Unfortunately, we have had to do this as some members were abusing the service. If you want to avoid this delay and avail of other features, please Upgrade Now to Premium Membership.
 

Is there anything that I cannot put into a message? Standard Members are not permitted to include Personal Contact Information or arrangements to meet in their messages and these will automatically be filtered out. If you wish to exchange such information, please Upgrade Now to Premium Membership. This will also apply if Premium Members are sending contact information to Standard Members. Both members must be Premium Members to freely exchange such contact information.
 

Can I block users from sending me messages? Only Premium members can block messages. Within each message you receive there is an option to ‘Block User’ which means that you can block any further emails from this member to you. Your block list is private to you only.
 

 
  PROFILES
Are profiles censored? No. However, all member profiles, when they are originally created as well as when they are modified, may be reviewed by AnotherFriend.com. We reserve the right to refuse any profile or photograph that we feel is inappropriate for this site. Also we ask that you do not put any personal information in your profile including but not limiting to: your home address, mobile or telephone number, a “real” email address or personal web address. This is for your safety and is a rule under our Terms and Conditions of membership. Any repeat offenders of this rule will be banned from the AnotherFriend.com site until such information is removed from their profile.
 

How long does it take to have my profile posted? Your profile is posted immediately, however AnotherFriend.com reserves the right to remove any profile which we deem as unfit for this website. Public Photos will be reviewed by our webmasters before being allowed to be posted to the website.
 

What are some tips to remember when creating my profile? The number of replies you get from other members will depend greatly on the quality of your profile. Don’t worry about getting everything in as you can amend your profile at any time. Just give it a go with whatever you wish to tell about yourself. We recommend that you give as much detail as possible as it is your individuality that will make your profile interesting. Think about the things you would like to know about someone else as other people are likely to want to know similar things about you. Please keep it honest as people will prefer to meet the real you! Here’s a tip. Post a photo! Even if it’s just a private one. Profiles with photos get way more mails than those without. Think before you write: Feel free to write as much as you want in our essay portions of the sign-up pages. Tell other members about yourself, for instance: your likes or dislikes, things you enjoy doing, what line of work you’re in, what your personality is like, even your hopes and dreams. The better your profile describes you, the more likely it is others will read and respond to it. If you can’t think of anything right away, you can always add more later. How do I edit my profile? You can edit your profile at any time by logging in with your Member Username and Password then clicking ‘My Account’ then ‘Edit Profile’.
 

What does the ‘Last logged’ in on a profile mean? So that members know who is actively using the site we show the period when the users last logged in.
 

How do I Deactivate/Reactivate my account? To Deactivate or Reactivate your account, please follow these steps:
  • Login to our site using your Username and Password.
  • Click on the ‘My Page’ link.
  • Click on the link that says, ‘Deactivate your Account’ or ‘Activate your Account’

I have forgotten my password, what do I do? Firstly check the e-mail you received from us when you joined the site as that will detail your Username and Password, as will any of the automated mails you may have received from us. Otherwise, simple email us here with your Username and we will send the Password to the email address we have on file for that Username.
 

How do I change my email address? To update your email address, please follow these steps:
  • Login to our site using your Username and Password.
  • Click on the ‘My Page’ link.
  • Click on the link that says, ‘Edit Your Profile’.
  • Type your new email address in the box that says ‘Email Address’ and click on the ‘Continue’ button and then the ‘Update’ button on the ‘My Profile’ Page.

Are there any discounts? There is a discount on monthly membership if you decide to pay over a three month period (33% discount) or over a twelve month period (45% discount which is over 5 months FREE!).
 

I am a Standard Member, how do I upgrade my account? To upgrade to a Premium Membership, follow these steps:
  • Login to our site using your username and password.
  • Click on the ‘My Page’ link.
  • Click on the link that says ‘Upgrade to a Premium Account’.
  • Select the period you wish to sign up for.
  • Click the ‘Proceed’ button.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions for payment.

What methods can I use to pay? You can pay your subscription by Visa, Mastercard, Laser or by postal order/cheque/bank draft. Just visit our subscription page which will take you through the process.

Why was my credit card denied? There are many reasons why an order comes back denied by your financial institute. Most common are:
  • Your Credit Limit has been reached.
  • Your Card has expired.
  • Your billing address does not match the card statement.
  • Your security code was incorrect.

Do you store Credit Card details? We do not store any credit card details on our servers. Worldpay handle all transactions and store all information on their secure servers.

Why was my subscription automatically renewed?
 

How do I cancel my Premium Membership? To cancel your subscription, you must send an email to billing@anotherfriend.com requesting the cancellation. Please allow at least 2 working days before your subscription is due.
 

If I cancel my membership will I receive a refund? We allow users to try the site before deciding to pay to contact other members, we do not offer refunds on part used memberships.
 

Right to cancel? When you become a Premium Member we provide the service to you from the moment you purchase it. Because of this, we cannot offer a cancellation or ‘cooling off’ period. This is in accordance with the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000. We will of course cancel all future payments.
 

If I cancel my membership, can I re-activate it when I want? If you cancel your membership, you can still re-activate your account should you want to come back to the service.
 

Why was my subscription automatically renewed? If you pay by credit card, you are charged immediately for your subscription. When you initial subscription term ends, we automatically renew your subscription each month unless you cancel your subscription prior to that date.
 

 
  SITE FEATURES
How are Search results ordered? All search results are ordered in date last logged in. This ensures that members who use the site frequently are kept near the top of the listings. Premium Members are listed first and then Standard Members.
 

What exactly is ‘Advanced Search’? Advanced Search is a Premium Member feature which is a more detailed search that allows you to search for additional criteria in relation to other members such as smoker/non-smoker or by certain keywords e.g. vegetarian.
 

What is the ‘My Favourites’ feature? The My Favourites feature is a list of members whom you are interested in. it maintains a link to their profile page. For AnotherFriend.com members, when you are browsing the listings, you will notice that every profile has a button on it that says, ‘Add to Favourites’. Clicking on this button will add that member to your Favourites. You can later remove people from your Favourites by clicking on the ‘Delete’ button next to their name.
 

What is the Block List? How do I use it? The Block List feature allows Premium Members to ‘Block’ or ‘Ignore’ certain members. This means that if you block another member, they will no longer appear in your search results and you will no longer receive emails from them via AnotherFriend.com site.

To add members to your Block List follow these steps:
  • Login to the site using your username and password.
  • Click on the ‘Read Messages’ link.
  • Click on an email from the member you wish to block.
  • At the bottom on the email click on the ‘Block User’ button to add the member to your block list.

To view your block list follow these steps:
  • Login to the site using your username and password.
  • Click on the ‘My Page’ link.
  • Click on the ‘View your Blocklist’ link.

To remove a member from your block list, follow these steps:
  • Login to the site using your username and password.
  • Click on the ‘My Page’ link.
  • Click on the ‘View your Blocklist’ link.
  • Find the member you wish to remove from your blocklist and then press the ‘remove’ button beside the members name.
 

What do the Icons on the Control Panel mean? The Icons are a quick way of navigating your way around the site. The same options are available on the side menu bars. The control panel and menu bar are divided into Standard and Premium member options.
 

What is a Wink? A Wink is a quick way to flirt. Without having to compose a message, Winks are a way of saying Hi to another member and of letting them know that you like what you see or read and would like to know more. A Wink is most often used as a means of making the first contact with a member that you are interested in getting to know.

When you send a Wink, you are sending the details of your profile to the other member, so the more you wink, the more members get to read your profile. You will know if you have received Winks from other members by checking ‘My Winks’.
 

What is a Whisper? Whispering is our one-to-one chat between Premium Members. A Whisper is the little message that you send exclusively to another Premium member which opens into a separate direct chatbox. Whispers do not appear in your inbox. If someone is whispering to you it will appear in your ‘Whispers for Me’ box, which will flash when you have new whispers. Standard members do not have access to Whispers.
 

Is there an Events section on the Site? Yes, the events board is part of the Premium member section of the site and it has two functions. Firstly, it enables Premium members to organise their own events and get togethers within an events calendar. Secondly, it enables AnotherFriend.com to offer events which may be of interest to its members. Contact us if you have any ideas for members events at events@anotherfriend.com
 

 
  SMS
What is an SMS? An SMS is a Short Message Service and lets people send text messages from their PC to mobile phones of other users.
 

If I send an SMS, will the other user know who I am? The only think the other person will know is your Username. They will not receive your mobile number as all SMS’s go through our anonymous messaging system.
 

If I send an SMS, what will the other person receive? The other user will only receive the actual text that you enter and your AnotherFriend.com Username. No other information is given to them.
 

How do I send an SMS? When you are browsing member profiles, if the user has elected to receive SMS messages and registered their phone number, there will be a mobile phone icon and option to ‘send sms’. You click on this option and enter the text for the message you wish to send. The same works to reply to an SMS message. You must have SMS credits to do this.
 

Are SMS Messages Free? No, users need to buy SMS Credits to actual send SMS messages.
 

What is SMS Notification? SMS Notification is an account feature where you can enter your mobile number and we will send you a text message when you have received new mail in your inbox.
 

 
  TECHNICAL
Why should I ‘Log-off’ after finishing on AnotherFriend.com? It is very important that you log-off every time you have finished using AnotherFriend.com, so that no-one else can access your details after you have left your computer.
